Summer in NYC

Image
New York City. The Greatest City in the World! I might be biased because I lived there but it truly is an amazing city, with so much to see and do. While the weather may not be the best because hey, who really likes to walk around in 20 degree wind and snow in the winter months or 95 degree heat while waiting underground for a subway with no AC in summer months but all that aside, no matter when you go to NYC you are bound to have the best time! Here is my guide to some not so typical thing to do in the summer, or really just non-winter months, in NYC! 1. Climb the Vessel: I say to do this in warmer months because from experience, it will get very cold and windy at the Vessel as it is located on the Hudson River on the west side of Manhattan. If the winds are too strong, they will close the Vessel or only allow you to climb a few stories up and that takes away from the experience. 2. Walk the High Line: Although it may be hot in the summer, it sure beats being up high in the cold, ...

Guide to Jupiter, Florida

Image
I just moved to Jupiter, Florida about a year ago and I was so surprised with how much I LOVE living here. I grew up in South Florida, the Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale area and always thought Jupiter was like another planet! (pun intended). It's in the northern part of Palm Beach County and although I was born and raised about an hour away, I have never been here until I moved up "north." Boy, did it take me by  surprise. Here is a little guide to the best things to do in Jupiter! When To Visit Just like anywhere in South Florida, there is typically good weather year round. Jupiter is not as popular of a tourist destination like Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm but South Florida is home to snow-birds from late- October to May. The traffic is usually a bit heavier at that time and the beaches a bit more crowded. Also, be aware that June to October is the rainy season and of course, hurricane season! You really never know what type of weather you will get here in the summe...

Fun In South Florida!

Image
Born and raised in South Florida, I have had my fare share day trips and weekend adventures all over the state. Florida is a top tourist destination mainly because of the warm weather year round, miles of beaches and of course DISNEY WORLD! Here are some of my favorite spots in South Florida that everyone, residents and tourists alike, need to check out! 1. Wynwood: Check out some local breweries and take pictures at the famous Wynwood Walls. The wall murals change periodically so this is definitely a spot you can check out numerous times and get a different experience each time you go! 2. Knaus Berry Farms: Go strawberry picking and check out there famous Cinnamon Rolls! South Florida locals drive over an hour to get these Cinnamon Rolls and other treats from the bakery 3. Catch a game: While in Miami-Dade County, its only appropriate to see one of the South Florida's sports teams play! Miami is home to the Miami Dolphins, Miami Marlins and Miami Heat. Whats better than tailgatin...

Hey Look, I'm Keeping the Tower Upright!

Image
Another famous city in Tuscany is Pisa! Home to the famous Leaning Tower, Pisa attracts tourists from all over the world, trying to snag the perfect picture with the tower. We have seen it all: people holding up the tower with their arms or legs, kissing the tower, kicking the tower, you name it and someone has tried it. We have seen many successful pictures with the tower and more than too many not so successful attempts to push the tower upright.  But, besides the Tower, what else does Pisa have to offer? To be honest, not much. Aside from the Leaning Tower there really is not much to do there. I do not recommend spending more than an afternoon in Pisa. It is an easy train ride into Pisa from Florence or anywhere else in Tuscany and makes for a perfect day trip. What I recommend: 1. Climb the tower: Although it is steep and a lot of steps, it is definitely worth it! You will get awesome panoramic views of all of Pisa from the top! If you choose not to climb the tower, there ...

Exploring Florence!

Image
The Tuscany region of Italy is breathtaking. Known for its vast amount of wineries it is also home to Florence, the capital of Tuscany and its largest, most populated city.  What To Do In Florence 1. Ponte Vecchio- a bridge lined with numerous retail shops, mostly fine jewelry. While the bridge is usually very crowded with tourists it is a must see in Florence. There are plenty of spots along the bridge where you can stop for a photo-op and see the beautiful Arno river. 2. Piazzale Michaelangelo - Climb the Michaelangelo Steps in Florence to get spectacular views of the entire city. One of the best lookouts in Florence. If you can, go right before sundown and you will see people all over with blankets and wine, relaxing and enjoying the sunset. It is a bit steep so just take note of that before you head over! View from Piazzale Michaelangelo 3. Duomo- If you want to go into the Cathedral and especially climb the Dome, you must get tickets in advance. The lines are extremely long in...

2 days in Venice, Italy

Image
Known as the city of romance, Venice, Italy is truly a remarkable city, unlike any other! With no roads and all canals, you can spend hours getting lost in the street of Venice as you explore shops with beautiful blown glass piece, restaurants on the water and historic landmarks. When traveling to Italy, Venice is a must see. Because of its small size, you can really see and do all the city has to offer in 2 days. I traveled to Venice in June so it was very hot! The best months to visit Italy is September-November as the weather is cooler and it is hot filled with tourists like the summer months. My 2-Day Itinerary Day 1 Arrive in Venice Marco Polo Airport and transfer to San Marco via the Alilaguna water ferry – $15 one way ticket - Orange or Blue line. **I highly recommend this option as it is the cheapest way to get into the main area of Venice. You can take a private water taxi but it is much more expensive. The water ferry is conveniently located at the airport and you get great ...
