Guide to Jupiter, Florida
I just moved to Jupiter, Florida about a year ago and I was so surprised with how much I LOVE living here. I grew up in South Florida, the Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale area and always thought Jupiter was like another planet! (pun intended). It's in the northern part of Palm Beach County and although I was born and raised about an hour away, I have never been here until I moved up "north." Boy, did it take me by surprise. Here is a little guide to the best things to do in Jupiter!

When To Visit
Just like anywhere in South Florida, there is typically good weather year round. Jupiter is not as popular of a tourist destination like Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm but South Florida is home to snow-birds from late- October to May. The traffic is usually a bit heavier at that time and the beaches a bit more crowded. Also, be aware that June to October is the rainy season and of course, hurricane season! You really never know what type of weather you will get here in the summer months but I can guarantee, it'll be HOT!
What to Pack
Of course this will depend on the seasons, but as I mentioned, it's warm almost all year long. In the warmer, summer months, pack plenty of sunscreen, hats and bathing suits as you will likely be spending most of the time outdoors. A rain jacket and umbrella wouldn't hurt either!
If you plan to visit in non-rainy season months, you will likely still be able to spend most of your time in shorts, tank tops and bathing suits but every now and again in November-February we can experience "chilly" mornings and nights so a light jacket would be beneficial!
Where to Stay
If visiting Jupiter, especially for the first time, I recommend staying near the water. Two great hotels are:
The Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harbourside: This hotel is right on the Intracoastal and minutes from the beach. It is located in Harbourside which is an outdoor shopping and dining complex so there will be plenty to do in the area. The hotel is fairly new and has a beautiful pool for fun in the sun!
Jupiter Beach Resort: This hotel is right on the beach in Jupiter and is home to multiple dining options, a pool as well as many other activities like tennis, basketball and shuffleboard.
Along the beach, you will be able to spend your day participating in numerous water sports or just relaxing in the Florida sun.
